CY Cergy Paris University against the war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine is raging. Tensions are high with neighboring countries. The Russian invasion is destabilizing this part of the world, and through it, Europe, the Western world, and the slow march towards democracy and enlightened citizenship.

Our university strongly condemns this attack. It expresses its full and complete support for the Ukrainian and neighboring university community, and for these entire populations who brutally find themselves in war, fear, exodus.

You will find here the position that our university has taken at European level with its 9 other colleagues from our European University EUTOPIA:

You will also find the press release from France Université here:

  • The repatriation of Ukrainian students from Russia, but also based in neighboring towns and close to conflict zones, is underway. These students are directly linked to the international relations of the university and their respective component. Researchers on mission in these countries are also invited to return to France.
  • Departures for missions, internships and studies in this area are also suspended until further notice.

We all hope that reason, peace and democracy will prevail over the madness of war.

Let us remember that democracy, wherever it is, is unfortunately never self-evident forever. It does not exist for all eternity. Wherever the threat comes from, democracy remains fragile and it asks its citizens at all times to believe in it, to make it live and to make it grow.

Let us remain attentive and united.
