Laurent Gatineau, President of CY Cergy Paris University, was elected on January 18, 2023. Since September 2020, Laurent Gatineau had been the Vice-President in charge of university policy at CY Cergy Paris University, after previously serving as Vice-President in charge of budgetary dialogue.
Holder of a PhD in Geography from Bordeaux 3 University, with highest honors under the supervision of Jean-Paul Charrié, Laurent Gatineau joined the University of Cergy-Pontoise in 2005 as a PRAG (Senior Lecturer).
In 2009, he became a Senior Lecturer at the IUT of Cergy-Pontoise and Head of the Logistics and Transport Management Department.
From 2016 to 2020, Laurent Gatineau was elected Director of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the university.
Since 2015, he has been responsible for the Logistics Management program within the Master's in Geography (Planning, Development, and Environment), linked to the Transport, Mobility, and Networks specialization since 2020.
In parallel with his teaching activities, from 2009 to 2021, Laurent Gatineau was a lecturer-researcher at the EA MRTE laboratory (Mobilities, Networks, Territories, and Environment).
Since 2022, he has been a lecturer-researcher at the UMR MATRiS laboratory (Mobilities, Planning, Transport, Risks, and Society), and has contributed to the work package 1 "Innovation Enhancement" of the Innovative Light Train consortium as part of the AMI Digitalization and Decarbonization of Rail Transport initiative.
