"PhD Student" Award
Claire Béranger (ETIS Laboratory)
A PhD student in information and communication sciences and technologies, Claire Béranger focuses her research on preventing falls among the elderly using innovative radar-based detection technologies. Her approach is based on the analysis of micro-Doppler signatures and deep learning to recognize daily activities and anticipate fall risks. She works closely with her target audience by conducting field surveys in a nursing home (EHPAD), alongside clinical staff.
Beyond her scientific achievements, she is committed to knowledge dissemination by participating in conferences, publications, and outreach activities focused on healthy aging. Claire is particularly active in the CY Alliance Science Festival alongside her PhD co-supervisor, Petr Dobias. Her work exemplifies engaged research, focused on the autonomy and dignity of older adults.
"Young Researcher" Award
Sara Berri (ETIS Laboratory)
A specialist in next-generation communication networks, Sara Berri is a lecturer whose research focuses on intelligent transportation systems, 5G/6G networks, and communication security. Involved in several European projects, including the EU SCALE and ROBUST 6G projects, she contributes to optimizing communication architectures while ensuring user privacy and intelligent allocation of network resources. Her research paves the way for the efficient operation of tomorrow’s autonomous vehicles.
Alongside her scientific work, she teaches and is the head of the Smart Communicating Systems master’s program at CY Tech. She is also actively involved in promoting scientific culture, participating in seminars, conferences, and open days at CY Cergy Paris University, where she shares her passion for digital sciences with a wide audience.
