Laurent Gatineau, President of CY Cergy Paris University, was re-elected on 11 April 2025. Laurent Gatineau was first elected University President on 18 January 2023, after having served as Vice-President for institutional policy at CY Cergy Paris University since September 2020, following his previous tenure as the University’s Vice-President for budgetary dialogue.
Laurent Gatineau has a PhD in geography with highest honours from Bordeaux 3 University, with Jean-Paul Charrié as his doctoral advisor. He joined Cergy-Pontoise University in 2005 as an associate professor.
In 2009, he was appointed as lecturer at the Cergy-Pontoise University Institute of Technology, and head of the Administration, Logistics and Transport department.
From 2016 to 2020, Laurent Gatineau was director of the university’s Literature and Human Sciences department.
Since 2015, he has been in charge of the Logistics Management section for the geography master’s degree, Planning, Development, Environment, which was given the Transport Mobility and Networks label in 2020.
Alongside his teaching activities, from 2009 to 2021 Laurent Gatineau was a lecturer and researcher at the EA MRTE (Mobilities, Networks, Territories and Environment) laboratory.
Since January 2022, he has been a lecturer and researcher at the UMR MATRiS laboratory (mobilities, planning, transport, risks and society), and has taken part in phase 1 of “Generating Value from Innovations” at the Innovative Light Train consortium within the framework of the Digitisation and Decarbonisation of Railway Transport development project.
