International strategy
Placing international engagement at the heart of the university’s development and outreach strategy
International outreach is one of the driving forces behind the development of CY Cergy Paris University, forming an integral part of its academic mission and closely linked to the institution’s teaching, research and local roots. Driven by a clear and shared vision, CY Cergy Paris University’s international relations strategy aims to forge lasting partnerships, enhance the exchange of knowledge and support the career paths of students, lecturers and researchers within an academic environment that is resolutely open to the world.
CY Cergy Paris University thus pursues a policy of strategic partnerships, based on balanced, long-term cooperation, particularly along the Africa–Asia axis. These partnerships contribute to the university’s international reputation whilst fostering joint projects in education and research, in line with major contemporary challenges and shared scientific priorities.
At the European level, CY Cergy Paris University is consolidating its position within the European Higher Education Area through its involvement in the EUTOPIA alliance. This alliance provides a unique framework for experimenting with new forms of academic cooperation, developing joint degree programmes, supporting student mobility and strengthening links between European academic communities.
The internationalisation of programmes is another cornerstone of CY Cergy Paris University's strategy. This is reflected in the development of internationally oriented courses, dual degree programmes and off-campus programmes, as well as research projects carried out in collaboration with international partners. This drive is accompanied by a particular focus on the quality of the welcome extended to international students, as well as visiting lecturers and researchers, in order to create an environment conducive to their integration and the success of their projects.
International engagement permeates all of the university’s missions – teaching, research and innovation – and practices – recruitment procedures and career management. The dissemination and adoption of a culture of international relations by all members of the institution enables this dimension to be firmly embedded in day-to-day practices.
To support this ambition, CY Cergy Paris University relies on a structured organisation and a range of complementary initiatives: a European alliance, active participation in international networks and consortia, projects to relocate expertise to Franco-international campuses, scientific collaborations based on joint publications, joint supervision of theses and seed funding schemes, particularly within the framework of several associated international laboratories.
