The dynamic and rapidly growing Cergy-Pontoise area benefits from educational and research opportunities supporting local economic and social development. CY Cergy Paris University is thus a key partner for businesses, local authorities and institutions, contributing to the training of skilled and committed future professionals.

CY Cergy Paris University is engaged in ambitious building projects reflecting a desire to modernise its premises while consolidating its role as a key player in the region. With a budget of €117 million under the 2021-2027 State-Region Contractual Plan (CPER), the university is constructing and renovating its buildings in response to the’ growing needs of its students and researchers.

The Cergy-Pontoise urban community (CACP)

In addition to being the administrative capital of Val-d'Oise, Cergy-Pontoise is a conurbation of 216,000 inhabitants located 25 kilometres from Paris, at the gateway to France’s Vexin Regional Nature Park. Its 13 municipalities form a region in which 14,000 businesses work in close proximity to a leading university campus, in a setting combining urban life and natural spaces.

Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)

The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (Association of Francophone Universities) is an association of higher education and research institutions forming the operating agency for the Francophone academic community, bringing together more than 1,000 universities, Grandes Écoles, university networks and scientific research centres using the French language in 115 countries. It has been established for 60 years and is one of the world’s largest associations of higher education and research institutions. It is also the operating agency for higher education and research institutions in the Sommet de la Francophonie (Francophonie Summit). As such, within its field of authority, it implements the resolutions adopted by the Conference of Heads of State and Government of countries sharing the French language.

In a spirit of respect for cultural and linguistic diversity, the AUF works to promote a French-speaking academic community actively engaged in the economic, social and cultural development of our societies.

Foundational projects for concrete enhancement of higher education
The AUF promotes solidarity between higher education and research institutions for the implementation of projects bringing about real transformation of the university system. It works with numerous partners: private companies and their foundations, States and governments, national development aid agencies, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, and academic, scientific and cultural associations. Its teams around the world provide support and advice for project design and follow-up, facilitating the sharing of best practices, expertise and innovations.

The AUF is present in 40 countries and has a network of 59 local offices. Its central departments are divided between Montreal and Paris (France). Ten regional directorates manage its activities on the ground in Central Africa and the Great Lakes, West Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Caribbean, Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.
CY Cergy Paris University has been a member of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) since 1996, and comes under the AUF’s Western Europe Regional Directorate.
Since September 2018, CY Cergy Paris University has hosted an AUF space aimed at the development of cooperation initiatives within the network of AUF member institutions.

Connected University

Are you aged 18 or over and looking to pursue or resume your studies? Join the Connected University of Taverny and benefit from personalised coaching, education and training programmes leading to qualifications! In partnership with CY Cergy Paris University, the Connected University of Taverny is a space accessible to anybody aged 18 or over enrolled on a post-secondary distance learning programme: university entrance diploma (Diplôme d'accès aux études universitaires), advanced vocational diploma (Brevet de technicien supérieur), undergraduate degree (Licence), master’s degree, university degree, preparation for competitive examinations (Concours), etc.).

A dedicated team supports students with careers advice and guidance in their choice of training and education, and promotes students’ learning autonomy in the development of cross-disciplinary skills such as critical thinking, argumentation, cooperation, and initiative. In addition, personalised support and regular group sessions are provided to help students find work placements and ensure their entry into professional life.
