See Why highlights a collective project built and carried forward by the students, faculty, researchers, and staff of CY Cergy Paris University, who, each in their own way, help the institution shine locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, notably through its two academic alliances: CY Alliance and EUTOPIA. In 2020, following its I-Site accreditation awarded to universities of excellence, CY Cergy Paris University embarked on its transformation with a new identity and an ambitious institutional project in line with the current needs of the entire university community. This is what the book See Why tells through chapters focused on major themes such as research, teaching, innovation, inclusion, as well as professionalization and transition, illustrated by men and women embodying the values and missions of the university through concrete projects.

Recognized as a major institution at the beginning of 2025, CY Cergy Paris University shares in the book its evolution to meet the new challenges of higher education with a multidisciplinary and professionally oriented curriculum. "This new status institutionalizes the agility and experimental spirit of CY Cergy Paris University, opening new perspectives for internationalization and the university’s influence," emphasizes Gabriel Desgranges, Vice President for Institutional Policy at CY Cergy Paris University. "One of the university’s major objectives is the professionalization of academic pathways to better support students from all backgrounds. Practically, this means developing programs directly linked to the job market and in-demand skills today, facilitating access to professional pathways from the first cycle. At the same time, CY Cergy Paris University invests in cutting-edge research, particularly in future-oriented fields such as health. With the recent creation of a Health Federation in early 2025, the university strengthens its position in transdisciplinary research, notably with artificial intelligence and its applications across various sectors." As detailed in the book See Why, published in March 2025, the university thus positions itself as a dynamic and evolving institution, reflecting society and its transformations.
