Informations complémentaires

A specialist in British intellectual history, I work on Jeremy Bentham and classical utilitarianism in the early-modern period (18th-19th centuries). Since 2018, I have developed a comparative and European perspective through a parallel with contemporary French thinkers such as Condorcet and Mme de Staël. My current research focuses on how utilitarianism contributed to emancipatory arguments on issues of gender and sexual morality, especially in the works of Anna Doyle Wheeler and Frances Wright.

Between 2016 and 2022, I coordinated the Testaments de Poilus project, supported by the Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine, with Florence Clavaud of the Archives nationales and other partners. This project developed an online collaborative transcription platform and resulted in the publication of a digital edition of 950 wills of Poilus from the First World War.

I am a member of Centre Bentham (Ecole de droit, Sciences Po) and an honorary research fellow at the Bentham Project, University College London

Between 2018 and 2023, I was dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Studies at CY Cergy Paris Université.
