International label

Promoting international career paths with the international label

The international label is a program that allows students at CY Cergy Paris University to have their international experiences recognized. It includes an open badge, which is valuable in the professional world.
CY Tech engineering students automatically receive the international label upon graduation and therefore do not need to apply. To find out if you need to apply, please contact labelinternational@cyu.fr

Obtain the international label

The international label is open to all students of CY Cergy Paris University and its constituent institutions.

To obtain the international label, several criteria must be met:

  • either a foreign language certification, international coursework, and international mobility,
  • or a foreign language certification and the EUTOPIA Certificate of Internationalisation (EUCI).

Foreign language certifications: Applicants must present one or more B2 level certifications in at least one foreign language. Recognized certifications are either those offered by CY Cergy Paris University or official certifications recognized by the French government, the governments of EUTOPIA member institutions, or the governments of countries where the recognized language is an official language.

International mobility: Applicants must demonstrate a cumulative stay abroad of at least two months. This can be for study, internships, or other purposes (excluding tourism). For international students, periods of study or internships completed in their home country are not eligible.

International courses: Students must have completed and passed one or more international courses as part of their studies at CY Cergy Paris University or concurrently with their studies there. An international course is defined as one taught in a foreign language or one that focuses on international, transnational, or intercultural themes.

EUTOPIA Certificate of Internationalization (EUCI): Obtaining this certificate replaces the validation of the criteria listed above. Details and requirements for obtaining this certificate are available on the EUTOPIA website.

Why apply?

The label represents CY Cergy Paris University's recognition of the international nature of its students' academic paths. It aims to recognize the efforts made, both during and alongside their studies, to participate in international activities.

It is accompanied by an open badge, which acknowledges the international skills acquired during the student's academic journey and which are valuable in the professional world.

What is an open badge?

Created by the Mozilla Foundation in 2011, the open badge is a digital tool designed to recognize the non-formal skills acquired by students outside of their formal studies. It is awarded individually and includes proof of its award and the evaluation criteria.

It can be displayed on a CV or on social media.
