Created in 2019 by Campus France and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs as part of the ‘Bienvenue en France’ strategy, the ‘Bienvenue en France’ label recognises higher education institutions for the quality of their support for international students. Awarded two stars from the very start of the scheme, CY Cergy Paris Université has maintained this rating for the next five years and is now aiming to secure a third star in 2029.
A reputation for excellent hospitality
The accreditation level of each eligible institution is determined on the basis of a set of indicators divided into six categories. These include the quality and accessibility of information; the quality and accessibility of student support services; support and preparation for studies; accommodation and quality of campus life; the quality of socio-professional integration and post-graduation support; and commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.
The ‘Bienvenue en France’ label aims to enhance the appeal of French higher education institutions by recognising the quality of the welcome they offer to international students. “The quality of our welcome has once again been recognised. CY Cergy Paris University can therefore highlight this label to boost its appeal and attract high-calibre international candidates. This label is visible in all Campus France offices worldwide,” emphasises the International Education and Mobility Department.
Services designed to support international students
CY Cergy Paris University has managed to retain its accreditation status this year thanks to practical initiatives such as the International Welcome Desk, a one-stop shop coordinated by the Val-d'Oise Youth Information Centre, where international students are welcomed by student ambassadors. These ambassadors then assist them with all the necessary steps to settle in. There is also the Online Welcome Desk coordinated by the International Education and Mobility Department. This digital platform enables international students to easily obtain a personalised study plan based on specific criteria (status, nationality, age, length of stay, type of funding, etc.). This step-by-step guide outlines all the procedures students need to complete to prepare for their stay, as well as those that should be initiated as soon as possible upon arrival in France.
